FAQs

Made in Canada
Our coats are entirely produced in Canada with high-quality materials.

RWS certified responsible wool:
Given our commitment to sustainable and responsible fashion, our wool is RWS certified, which stands for Responsible Wool Standard. This ensures the well-being of the sheep and the land they graze on. Several points are addressed by this certification, including the protection of animal welfare and the preservation of soil health.
RWS certification requires the commitment of all stakeholders, from the farmer to the final supplier.

Our mission:
Desloups' mission is to manufacture ultra-warm, 100% wool-lined winter coats and Isosoft parkas, all made in Canada. The idea stemmed from the compromise we all face during winter: wearing a "chic and cold" wool coat or a "sporty and warm" padded coat. Desloups has created the perfect coat to be both stylish and warm with a perfect fit.

The brand:
The origin of the word "Desloups" dates back to 2013, and it was by following our desire to find a word in French and a name that could represent Quebec, the cold, and our territory that we settled on Des Loups, then we created a new term by grouping the two words, and that's how "Desloups" was born!

The logo:
Originally, the name "Desloups" was accompanied by a logo of small snowshoes, and it was in 2018 that we rebranded with the new wolf logo which is more in line with the name.

Our shop:
In 2017, we opened our first boutique-workshop on St-Denis Street in Montreal near downtown. This is where the design process, the sales office, as well as a shop open to the public and a workshop are located.

Our vision:
We strive to create the finest winter coats locally, with a focus on authenticity and quality to meet our customers' needs. That's why we've chosen to produce 100% of our coats in Montreal, allowing us to work closely with our suppliers and support local businesses. Our entire team represents a network of experts with whom we collaborate closely.

Behind Desloups:
Desloups is a Canadian winter coat brand created in 2013 by designer Isabelle Deslauriers. After studying fashion design in Quebec City and working for about fifteen years in the fashion industry in Montreal, she founded Desloups in 2013. Isabelle successfully combined two of her passions in creating Desloups: winter and sustainable fashion.

Our coats:
DESLOUPS coats are the warmest wool coats you'll find on the market. They feature original designs, sophisticated styles, and are made of exceptionally warm virgin wool with an active Thermolite lining—a premium product that guarantees the durability of your coat. Furthermore, all our coats are made in Quebec and are specifically designed for our winters.

Materials:
Properties of Wool: Wool has been used for its insulating properties for centuries; it is an excellent thermal insulator and therefore an ideal material for winter. It is naturally resistant to moisture and rain (up to a certain point). Wool remains the ultimate warm material, and what matters most is the percentage of wool in the coat's composition. DESLOUPS offers 100% virgin wool coats to ensure your comfort and warmth, even when temperatures plummet in the depths of winter.

Properties of the quilted lining: Our coats are lined with a quilted fabric made of nylon on the surface and active thermolite underneath, which increases the degree of comfort by trapping air between the wool and the lining, forming ideal thermal insulation to keep you warm.

Coat properties:
DESLOUPS designs and manufactures all its coats in Quebec, using a melton weave made of 100% virgin wool, lined with nylon piqué and active thermolite for added comfort. Thoughtful details like handwarmer pockets and a fine wool lining in the cuffs, back panel, and pockets create a cozy cocoon of warmth. Furthermore, a large collar, big enough to accommodate a scarf, and often a detachable hood lined with fine wool are included to keep you covered and warm, even in cold weather.
